Campus Ministry supports the Boston College community鈥檚 engagement in the Catholic faith by providing multiple opportunities for prayer and reflection, as well as catechetical instruction that ideally serves as a pathway to greater participation in the Sacraments and the rich liturgical life of the Church.
Are you a Catholic who wants to be confirmed?
If you desire to be confirmed before you graduate, Campus Ministry has a program tailored for you, which consists of a series of conversations throughout either the fall or spring semester about our Catholic faith.
The confirmation program meets bi-weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the lower level of St. Ignatius Church. The program meets each semester; students have a choice as to which semester they will attend. Conversation will focus on the central teachings of the Church, its rich tradition, and key practices and rituals. Reception of confirmation usually happens in the spring. There is no cost for the program.

The confirmation program allows baptized Catholics to complete their initiation into the Catholic Church. After participating in the program students will be able to:
- Understand the historical and spiritual meaning of Confirmation as a sacrament of initiation, alongside Baptism and Eucharist.
- Articulate key tenets of the faith (e.g., the Trinity, the life/teachings of Jesus, Church history, and the Bible).
- Establish personal spiritual disciplines such as prayer, reflection (e.g., lectio divina), and regular engagement with scripture.
- Examine the Christian call to serve others and commit to ongoing acts of charity, compassion, and advocating for the vulnerable.
