C21 Student Voices Project
The Student Voices Project
In the fall of 2019, Boston College鈥檚 Church in the 21st Century Center set out to develop a method for 鈥榯aking the pulse鈥 of Boston College students鈥 faith journeys. Through short online surveys and focus groups, the Student Voices Project has since engaged with more than 4,000 high school and college students from across the United States about their experiences in the Catholic Church.
After Pope Francis announced the Synod on Synodality in 2021, the Church in the 21st Century Center realized that the Student Voices Project鈥檚 diagnostic tool could facilitate young people鈥檚 participation in the Synod. After a year of data collection, the Center submitted a report of its findings to the Vatican.
