Interdisciplinary Majors

The Lynch School offers three interdisciplinary majors,Ìýbased in two or more arts & sciences disciplines that are relevant to students in theÌýElementary Education,ÌýApplied Psychology and Human DevelopmentÌý(APHD), andÌýTransformative Educational StudiesÌý(TES) majors. The interdisciplinary majors are not available to students in Secondary Education.

American Heritages

The American Heritages interdisciplinary major (9 courses/27 credits)ÌýÌýis designed for students who are interested in the American heritage from literary, social, and historical perspectives.Ìý

Mathematics/Computer Science

The Mathematics/Computer Science interdisciplinary major (10 courses/30 credits) isÌýwill better equip graduates to pursue careers in such areas as classroom teaching, remedial and tutoring K-12 Math programs, professional development, educational technology, administration, higher education, educational research, educational policy, curriculum development.Ìý

Perspectives on Spanish America

The Perspectives on Spanish America Interdisciplinary Major (9 courses/27 Credits) is recommended for students who may have had at least two years of high school Spanish and wish to develop Spanish languageskills, coupled with a background in the historical, sociological, and literary traditions of Spanish-American cultures. This major is particularly appropriate for students with an intended career objective to work with those of Hispanic origin.
