Burns Visiting Fellow in Irish Studies
Description
The Boston College Irish Studies Program, in conjunction with the Burns Library, invites applications for visiting summer fellowships.聽The fellowship includes gratis accommodation for the scholar and any immediate family members in a university-owned house adjacent to campus for six weeks (staying in residence for at least four weeks) beginning in or around mid-June in 2026, 2027 or 2028. The fellowship also provides reimbursement for standard airfare and ground transportation to and from Boston College for the fellow only (up to $1,500). The fellow is responsible for all other expenses.
Qualifications
The fellowship is open to researchers and writers in any discipline pertaining to Irish Studies.聽Early-career scholars are particularly encouraged to apply.
Application Instructions
Interested candidates should upload a curriculum vitae and a one-page proposal outlining their plan of research and how they would benefit from consulting the archival and other special collections held in Boston College鈥檚 John J. Burns Library and any other resources in the Boston region to Interfolio at聽. They can also indicate which year and month might be preferable. Applications must be received by November 30, 2025.
